i know the accord like the 94-97 the gague clusters on the odometer sticks and you can usually just tap it alittle bit. What happens is that the plastic on the needed or the coil that the needle there is a coilwind on the back part of the needle I think from the heat it melts. But it hitting doesn't do anything and your talking about lights etc.. electrical. I would check connector pin fit. Or just simply pull the conector out and re-fit it. Might not be in 100 percent. 99 percent most electrical problems are terminal pin fit.

yeah but the thing is even when I would go 80 mph, the cluster would work, stop working, then work again in a matter of 2 seconds, so I don't think it is stuck, I think it is loosing contact somewhere.

and I thought I was the only one with this problem, I have a 97 dx with a b16 and it does the same thing, also my cousin had a 92 cx hatch with a type r motor and it started doing it to the guy he sold it to so if anyone has had this problem and fixed it I would love to know how, otherwise anyone with an SI cluster that they would like to sell I'll take it.

Yeah I thought that was my problem so I unplugged that and cleaned it and the cluster did the same thing, then I put another cluster on and it worked perfectly so that means it is the cluster.

i had the same problem in my 92 hatch. i just took the cluster apart and took the speedo assembly out and switched it with another one. and it works fine till this day. if u do plan on doing this just be carefull with the needle when taking it off.

That's what I did too when my speedo was going out. I bought a VX cluster from a junkyard and the speedo started going out so I replaced it with the speedo from my DX cluster I kept laying around.

You can order the speedo itself from the dealer and the VSS too but knowing dealer prices they'll probably charge a lot more than what you think.

bump for the picture above. are you referring to a VSS vehicle speed sensor. If so, I honestly dont' think tha'ts the problem.. it has somehthign to do with the tach. a loose wire I might say..

you can buy a cluster and swap it out, but that'll cost more. try asking honda. maybe it's cheap. but either way, swapping out the whole center speedo or the chip will fix it.

Same kinda problem here. Except I'm on my third cluster.

1st one - speedo needle would jump periodically and the odometer would stop counting.

2nd one - speedo needle would jump periodically and sometimes when I hit the turn signals.

3rd one - when I start the car, the speedo needle will jump up to 60 mph, or 110 mph, and so on...

Have no idea where to start fixing this thing.
