just take the ecu out, and anything easily removable and valuable. lock it and/or get an alarm. with out the ecu though, no one drives the car. and its easy to take out. either that or move to somewhere safe. like good ole boise idaho. lol

yeah..everyone keeps moving somewhere "safe." and remote. Pretty soon the whole USA will be one big 'California.

go to search, then search for thread by creator, type in "security" (yes that's the dude's username), and search within the crx/ef civic forum. there is an awesome thread floating around.

Ain't no place that's safe.If a thief wants it-even in Boise,they will try.
You just have to make it harder to take;alarm, cut off switches, etc.

Removing the ecu is not the best way. All theives have to do is put another one in. U need to put in some kill switches for the fuel pump and the ignition. Somewhere hard to get to.

yeah i read it and a few others in various honda/ civic/ rex forums and i intend to do a few of the items in combination but springs is a crap load bigger than zetroc and i really dont have a big luxury on other cars because my lifted 79 bronco is staying here (curse you damn oil companies!!!!!) thats why i ask because a few people (as you have seen) have had there stuff broken into/stolen/vandalized and what not and small town people like me arent exactly used to locking our doors at night. if you can give an educated guess on what the number (i.e. 7 out of 10 rexs etc.) might be i would really appreciate it.

if your rex has valuable stuff or looks clean or has a bunch of stickers on it. Its obvious a theif will go by and check it out.

From looking inside to being able to get in and popping the hood, the theive looks for what looks like a gold mine and probably spend your hard earned money for drugs.

SECURITY!!!
SECURITY!!!
SECURITY!!!

If you don't have security first then don't slap anything on your car yet.

no security, no guarntee

its everywhere modded and stock..dont matter anymore..if you have a 88+ honda/acura be carefull..they're just to easy to steal, you can steal 1 with a liscence plate, screwdriver and a hammer in under 1 minute..and you can break the steering lock easily.....so make it hard for them,,layer the security

Please start locking your doors or you're asking for trouble. That's the most basic line of defense along with keeping anything a petty thief (i.e. crackhead ) would find worthwhile to steal out of plain sight.

2.345 of every 10 Honda CRXs will or have been stolen. Thats 23.45%. Out of the 334,234 CRXs, 68,342 are stolen. Only 36.3% are returned to use. With the population of US at 312,435,745, your state population, and the given amount of CRXs, the chances of your CRX being stolen are, umm, ummm, - I DONT FREAKING KNOW

dude, get an alarm, put a KILL SWITCH ON THE POWER FOR THE ECU!!!! mountit under the dash or sum'n.. to where u have to switch it on to crank the car. you can also put a switch on your clutch relay safety thing. Your car doesnt start w/o the clutch pressed in. It's electronic. Bypass the switch and pout your own in...

hmmm well lets see,

Eg stolen in april....

CRX stolen saturday morning in broad daylight from a spa resort in desert hot springs ca.

both cars car kill switches built into the headlights, the EG had the fuse pulled from the main relay.

removable steering wheel with an offbrand hub that not too many have i.e. omniman.

out here theives carry p28, pr3, pr4 and wheel with an NRg hub 15 amp fuses.

the only true security is a locked garage. if they want it they will have it. park in well lit areas, and dont park in the same place every day if you can avoid it.

i miss living in the suburbs of tampa florida where i could leave me doors unlocked in my driveway, or even my windows down overnight to let my car air out.

Layers and Layers of protection is the key to keeping your honda in your possesion. My turbo crx was stolenlast year in november 05. Luckly found my car (stripped) which sucks. but got some info on whom did it and had state police arrest them. Well waiting for the state to do something. Now my cars are locked up and alarm as well as the club(layer, layers and layers of protection).
Keep your cars lock them up and get layers of protection.
Good luck

living in the states sounds like it sucks lol. The only reason i lock my doors anymore is so i can use the keyless entry button i got installed. I lock it coz its fun lol. beep beep.

the only thing i could think of that will be the most likely to keep your car from being stolen is those big yellow wheel boots they put on cars people illegally park. That way they cant drive it,take the tire off,or tow the car.No matter how many kill switches, boots, whatever you have, they can still tow it away.
