2 questions , How hard to drop/re-fit a subframe(with engine out) and also how to DIY fix rear engin
hi all -
dropping in a b18c7 soon ( saem as your c5) and i will remove the PS with a small kit i have made ~
While the engine is out id like to pull off all the PS piping off the subframe and ofcourse check the rear mount / replace etc.
1. How had is the subframe to refit once dropped ? (with engine out) It is only 4 large bolts , but ive heard a few "complaints" here and there....
2. D series rear engine mount is same as B series correct ?
3.IF so , has anyone DIY "filled" their rear engine mount with window weld etc ? Is it a similar result as using inserts or replacement bushes etc ?
many thanks ben

I've never dropped a subframe before. But I would guess that it isn't that difficult.
As for the mounts, no they are not the same. And the window weld won't work either. My friend tried this on his b18c1 and it just cracked and started to fall out. Spring for the $30 on inserts. They are well worth it.
