I just paid $2500 for a 96 with 186,000 miles...

Slight paint fade, one bubble of rust in the usual wheel well, and some foggy headlights are the only things wrong with it.

look up your price range....

I paid $4800 for my 97 HX coupe. It had 110K miles at the time, which was February 2004. Everything works perfect on it. HXs are great alternatives to EXs because they are a good bit lighter and still have power windows and locks.

he said he wanted a daily driver, he doesnt need to have a manual civic to go fast just for a daily driver. autos are just fine for dd purposes. to the original poster, you can find 96-00 civics for as low as 2,000 and as high as 6,000. in my opinion i would look for one without any mods to it.

I was talking with a friend who is a used car dealer who likes to specialise in Honda cars. He said because of gas prices - prices for used Honda's at the auto auction have really gone up. It is making it hard for him to find good quality, low priced cars to resell. He said very often the selling price for a civic at auction has been nearly retail. Locally I can expect to pay between 4500-6000 for a 96-98.
I am looking to buy a civic for the wife to drive to work and back. I am hoping to find one with some major engine mechanical problems and then swap in a z6 that I have sitting in my garage
