Power Window Electrical problem
Just recently the passenger side power window on my Honda Civic 01 no longer rolls down. I checked the fuse under the steering wheel and found that the fuse was out. I replaced it and it blew out again. I checked the larger 40A fuse under the hood, replaced it and tried a new fuse, well it blew out again once I tried to roll the window down. The funny thing is that its only that window that the fuse is blowing on. The other windows seem fine. I have an idea of what it might be, but I would like some input before I start taking the side door panel apart.
Youve got an electrical wiring problem. What it is, you have got a short circut in the wiring for that door by itself. The only way to find it is to put a test light on at different spots of that particular wire, and find out where its contacting metal somewhere.
That is why it keeps blowing fuses. Short circuts are a bitch to find.

the short could be caused by the motor itself. if the motor wore out to a point that the brushes spun together, it would simply pop the fuse when you hit the switch. Test this theory out by unplugging the power window motor inside the door and attempting to hit the switch. IF the fuse blows, you have a short elsewhere, IF it doesnt, the motor was shot.
Thanks for the posts, I know for sure that the fuse blows with either the master switch and with the door itself. Ill check the motor this weekend and see. Ill post it later and let you guys know the outcome. Thanks for the replies
pull your door panel off unplug the regulator and with a new fuse in. Turn the ingnition on press the window switch up or down. If it pops you know its most likely the master swtich which are known for shorting out. I just replaced a 2006 faulty mirror switch for the power mirrors and because the fuse was on the same circut path as the ac control panel he also lost ac function.
Anyways what skipbarber says is good advise.
