My 0$ Budget Car Story/Build!!!
Well, I traded my friend a 240SX for his EF per his request a week or so ago. When I initally purchased the 240, it had an RB20DET swap, fully adjustable K-Sport coils, 5-Lug, SAFC 2, FMIC, Apexi N-1 exhaust, testpipe, Zenetti Five rims, etc, etc on it. The price that I paid for the car?!?! (ToO lOw To sHoW!11!)
Interested in becoming a business major, I saw an opportunity to strip the car and sell all the aftermarket parts. Going through with this (thank you eGay) and after everything had been set and done, I had netted a 450% return from the origional cost, with the shell still left in my garage.
While driving to sell the coilovers, my friend who was tagging along told me that he really wanted the car and offered to trade me his EF with a JDM front, JDM cluster, JDM climate control, JDM taillights, Trust exhaust, Spoon shiftknob, Skunk2 shortshifter, coils, etc, so I took the offer. The very next day, I stripped the car of it's parts and have been putting them on Craigslist for the past few days (who said that you couldn't invest in a Honda
).
To make life easier, I decided to just think to myself that I got the car for free, and would try and persue to make this car as fast as possible, for the least amount of money, if any money at all... Many would have said that this would be foolish mentality and that modding a car would not be possible without currency. Well, here are some pics to show what I have received in the last few days for basically 0$.
The car:

New shoes x 4 (traded for the CRX SI's that came on the EF):

?!?!?!:

?!?!?:

?!?!?!:

Mani:

WG:

Boost Gauge (I took the pic when it was in my 240):

DP:

Catchcan (came on 240):

So far, I am in 50$ and that's only because I had to purchase a front end since the JDM one is sitting in my garage. Why did I bother writing all this out?!? I see many people in auto forums stating that people need to have the cash to have the fun. Truth is, patience is all that it takes

Looks like a start, don't get to attached to the manifold though, I had a customer come in 20 times to get it rewelded, it would break, and break, and break.
One sturdy brace form the turbo to the block is plenty, mines been run like that for months daily driven no problems

Here, let me write it out nice and easy for you.
1. I buy a 240SX for $800.
2. I sell the parts for 3500-4000$ but keep the boost gauge and catchcan(profit)
3. I trade the shell for the EF
4. I sell the EF parts for around 2000-2500$ (profit)
5. I trade the SI's that were on the car for bottlecaps
6. I buy 3 turbo's for 110$; sell 2 for 250$ and keep one for myself (140$ profit + free turbo)
7. I purchase the manifold, WG, bov, dp, VAFC2, and nitrous for 450$; sell the VAFC2 and nitrous for 450$ (free mani, WG, bov, dp).
8. My friend wants the 240SX so I give him the car for his EF (at his request).
So how am I in a few grand deep?!? Also, I didn't screw my friend, he knows about cars and I even told him that he was losing money. He doesn't care however, and told me to just trade him anyways.

I got really lucky with the 240. I don't even know the guy. All he did was post his car up on craigslist and I jumped on it not even 5 min after he posted it
