Default Eibach ERS Springs question

I wanna get the ERS Springs because I know you can order different rates but I dont know what to get!! Any suggestions.

DC2: I dont know much about spring rates. I would like to get a spring that is stiffer then what is on the car now. Something that would help at the track with less weight transfer in the rear but I could still throw the car in a curve AND NOT GO DRIFTING!!! And before we get off on shocks and stuff I'm lookin to lower the more. The car sets about 2" above the top of the tire now but I wanna get it back DOWN on top of the tire!! Most shocks tend to BLOWOUT when a car is that low so im wanting to know what shocks people are running on your DC2 as well.

CRX: I wanna slam the **** out of this car!!! More or less a street driving drag car. I saw some where in a magazine of a civic road race car that had ERS 1200lb. springs in the car. So would that be stiff enough to run at the drag strip and still throw in some curves if I wanted to with out the drift effect??? Opinions, Flames, Whatever.

the stock spring rate on you car are around 200lbls/in and 100lbs/in

Ground control OTS kits are 3xxlbs/in and 250lbs/inch

The spring is given the 1200lbs/in becuase it takes 1200 pounds of force o compress the spring ONE inch. And ANOTHER 1200 pounds of force to compress it the second, inch. (and so on).

You REALLY think its a bright idea to but that stiff of springs on a street car?

Just cause you see niffty parts on race cars, don't be so quick to want to put them on street car.

Also you say you want a car that pushes. and you are talking about 1200lbs springs....??

if you want to be super low run something around 400lbs up front and 250 in the rear will be fine.

FYI you will hit your UCA on the sheet metal were the shock mounts, and probably hit your oil pan alot. (if you want to be super low

1200lb springs are just plain stupid as **** on the street. Don't do that. If you do decide to do it anyway, you need a very serious shock to hold up to that. You'd blow the stock ones out, like, immediately. For everything else, listen to what slammed_93 said. With any shock, if you "slam" the car you'll screw everything up, ride, handling, reliability/wear of shock. You'll bang your shock towers and oil pan, probably fubar your header, scrape your exhaust, etc. And "slamming" the car, regardless of the suspension, will make the car handle like crap. That race car with 1200lb springs wasn't slammed, though if you saw it mid-corner it might've looked more like that from suspension compression.

If you want rear spring rates optimized for drag racing (no rear end squat, like you're talking about), the car will handle like **** in turns. You do realize how they operate differently, right? On the strip, you don't want the rear to compress because it takes weight off the front end where your power is being laid down. When you're dealing with turns, everything is much different.

In addition, when you get super stiff rates like you're talking about, first, on the street where the roads aren't perfect, you won't "drift" but you will bounce into the air. I had 850/975lb springs on my car for track use, and didn't have time to take them off right when I got home. Sure enough, on any significant bump, I was literally airborne. It was stupid, not entirely safe, and put way more stress on my shocks than I would've liked. On small backroads like I'm sure you're referring to, a softer suspension will work better than a really stiff one, as it'll soak up the bumps rather than just make you bounce over them.
