monitor doesn't work
my buddy sold me a dvd 2 pc indash unit, (screen and player) the player sucked so i got a new one: audiovox from circuit city and used the same monitor with it. monitor is a performance teknique 7" ICBM-9492t.
it was working fine when i first wired it up and fine in my buddy's car. listened to it a few times and worked fine. yesterday a fuse blew, i replaced it with a 2a 250w and worked for a bit until i turned car off and it blew it again. i put in another and worked fine until i turned it off and blew fuse again. third try the unit is not even working. monitor is on (recieving powerand lite up) but buttons don't lite up like before and doesn't turn on. i think the big fuse box is bad or something. i hate electrical and any suggestions to finding the problem would be helpful. I'll rewire everything up tonight.
plus is this a good monitor? i got everything for dirt cheap.

the wires were already wired from reciever to monitor, the new reciever has that four hole plug and is only using a (+) and (-) which is connected behind the fuse box along with the monitor, so a set pf (+) and (-) is unused, is it needed? reciever turns on but monitor doesn't. the only wires i did not connect is the brown, orange and blue/white.
something is wrong, i put the yellow and red together and put on (+) battery, black on (-) battery and monitor works like a charm. but when i plug it to the main car harness, doesn't work. i checked the car fuse but not blown and cigarette button works, stereo doesn't work. is there another fuse elsewhere? i'm guessing it's the main harness from the car.
Yup. Something is wrong. What kind of car? 3 posts and you haven't given us that yet...
If it's a Honda, there are 2 fuse boxes. One under the dash, one under the hood. Check both.
And how are you checking the fuse? Are you just "looking" at it, or are you verifying it with a meter or test light?

You don't LOOK for anything... You need to VERIFY that your fuses are good with A METER or TEST LIGHT. LOOKING is NOT good enough...

it was the yellow wire, i still don't understand why the fuse on (2a 250w) screen keeps blowing, the remote from stereo doesn't work so i ran the remote for the amp to the red. is this fine? may i'll just run without the woofers for now.
