*SEARCHED* Does unsprung clutch disks kill trannys?
Like the title says. A friend of mine is about to throw $1500 in a factory new ITR tranny, but he's got a ACT 4 puck unsprung. Will this shorten the life of his tranny? He's going for ~400whp daily (to start with)
unsprung hubs are abusive on thrust bearings, main bearings, trannys pressure plates and fly wheels.
That being said you gotta do what you gotta do to get a good holding clutch. Personally i run a twin disc which is a little less harsh then an unsprung hub.
