I have an intermittent problem with the first gear. I have searched and havent found something that exactly describes my problem. This happens on a rare occasion (3-4 times a month) but its still annoying. When im in first and I start accelerating, my lude will start moving but its like as if it gets stuck at ~1000-1500rpm. I press the gas pedal more and it doesnt do anything like as if no gas is being injected. This last for maybe 2-3 seconds and then it will all of a sudden "catch" and the car "lunges" forward. At that point the problem dissapears and it could take about 1 or 2 weeks for it to come back.

sounds a lot like your spark... try checking out your plugs and wires.... maybe even your dizzy or coil
