cracked coolant reservoir

I tried to do some searching on this subject, but there was not much. I had a crack in my coolant reservoir and I believed this to be why my car would overheat JUST while running th A/C. It drives fine when not running it. OK so anyway I purchased another used coolant reservoir and it indeed has a crack in it as well. SO my question is, would the crack be causing this turmoil when the A/C is on?
I just woke up and may not be thinking this threw thoroughly, but a cracked coolant reservoir is a big NO NO right? I just want to have some my facts straight so that I can get my money back from this dude.....thanks in advanced

Well, say your car warms up to operating temp, the coolant 'overflows' into the overflow tank like it's supposed to, then leaks out of a crack in the overflow, then the engine cools down when you stop driving and it sucks air back into the engine (instead of the coolant that should be there), then you will overheat for sure.

I see, so this would be why my countless number of times trying to bleed the system failed. Its funny how something so simple could be overlooked, well at least by me. I'll just try and repair one of the two to be a temporary replacement.
Thanks dude
