There's lots of precautions you need to take. Use the search feature, look in the FAQS on the top of the 1st page, and do lots of reading.

Compression tests, oil pressure tests. There are a lot of stuff to check. Boosting isnt like putting on an intake and call it done. Oh no.

there was a write-up some guy did about boosting. one thing i remember is that make sure when you get your car tuned/dyno'd up, you get everything in writing just in case they blow your engine, they'll be liable and not you.

this man speaketh the truth.
Theres alot of reading/checking things over before you "slap" the kit on... Not trying to sound like an *** but if you want reliability then make sure every thing is done right the first time, and dont go too long without a tune.
look into standalone ecu as well, go ahead and spend the money... piggybacking=doom w/ boost.

my advice is take that "dirt cheap" turbo kit and put it back on ebay for some other poor fool to buy. I would have to bet that the turbo kit isn't quality and without proper re enforcement to the lower end will make your engine go pop.. in a bad way.. ringlands are the weak link to the H22 when forced induction comes in.. most will say 6-8psi max on stock internals.. thats depending on a good tune tho.. anyway I wouldnt do a "dirt cheap" turbo project on a hdeuce.
