Default Strange moaning noise comming from under the my lude.

Hey guys. Over the past year or so I have owned my prelude that now has 140,000 miles on it (3rd owner), I have noticed a strange almost ghostly moaning noise coming from somewhere in the car when I turn it completely off. Up until today I never thought too much of it until I went searching for its origin. After a somewhat hot day today, and at almost empty I heard the noise again after shutting off the car. It lasts for about 4-5 seconds and there is a 10-12 second delay till it happens again until it finally stops after 5-10 minutes. I crawled under the car to find that it was originating from the gas tank, or in that area closest to the rear of the vehicle where it looks like the main gas line is. What could this noise be? And why would it be making a noise when there is no power to the car.

Ever since I have had the car I have been experiencing rough starts and somewhat lagging acceleration starting off in 1st gear, which I have attributed to a bad main relay which I have yet to replace. Now I am hoping it’s just that and not a bad fuel pump. Anyone have any idea???

Does it sound kinda like a cow mooing? My mom's Accord has been doing it for years. We're pretty sure it's from the AC. What's weird is it only does it when someone walks near the car

Well my AC is shot, not charged and compressor wont fire up. So i doubt its that. I do hope there isnt a small cow in my gas tank.

I think it is the ABS, but could be wrong.
I have a 2001 and mine does too sometimes.

My mate had the moo'in from his CRX, sure it was the ABS.

Think he pulled the fuse and the noise stopped.
