Default New to this Site and Hondas

Hey Everyone,

I'm completely new to this site and to Hondas in general. So I thought I would say hi, introduce myself and post ,y car up. The car is a 1990 CRX Si, not modded as of yet and needs work. I am looking for opinions on it, what I should do/get, and better yet someone local who wants to help me learn.

Issues I am working on:

fog lights have no switch and aren't wired, I got a switch from an Acura Integra was planning on using it.

AC/heat fan doesn't blow when I turn it on, it tried for a sec then stops.

Sun Roof doesn't do anything, not even a sign of recieving power when I hit the switch.

No muffler currently. Though I do have a 2.25" down pipe, exits on passenger side.

Seats suck, they are from a 1989 Si and don't fit, plus the guy swiss cheesed the hump while doing a bad job drilling so I can't fix it. I am working on getting a pair of 91 Si seats, because the stock mount holes are still good.

Windshield is cracked bad.

Fenders need replacing.

Passenger side mirror cracked bad.

Has some rust on passenger side back quarter panel.

Plans:

Fix all of the above.

Engine swap, maybe a B Serie sor an H22 depending on what coems upw hen I have the cash.

Usual exhaust upgrades: header, intake, pipe, muffler etc...

Custom Interior and exterior.

Brakes, wheels, power steering, boost (supercharger)

Sounds like quite the project but it will at least keep you entertained! Welcome to the site, just follow the rules and you'll be a great addition to this site.

P.S. Good luck on the project!

I quite literally have no idea what I am doing. I have never worked on cars before, just decided it owuld be a fun new challenge. I am a very technical person, computers & home A/V systems, just wanted to learn something new. If anyone wants to help I would be supremely grateful.

The switch did not have any wires coming off, just a plug to attach to the wiring. So maybe if I can find that plug it will work? The fog lights are wired to the point that if I touch their wires to the positive battery end they light up.

Onlly 3 mor eposts tonight, being a noob si always fun...

Just so no one SCREAMS at you, "SEARCH!!!"

If you look in the upper right corner, in Red, there's a "Search."
You can search for info on pretty much anything you need, it's GREAT.

Also, make sure you search in the right Forum (Mostly the Ef/CRX one) and/or in Recent or Archived Topics.

It helps alot, Espescially when you're new and have a limit on posts...

And,

Wilkommen

so far you sound like you're not a total idiot like other newjacks on here . you've got common sense, bought a clean car, and from what you said, you are a technical person.

you'll get the little bugs fixed, and there have been threads about the si's sunroof not working. a little searching and you'll be good to go on that. if you've got any questions, most of the people here are good dudes that will help you out (as long as you're not posting a redundant topic that's been covered many times).

with all that being said, i'm envious of your car, and above all, welcome to the site!

Remove, and clean the sunroof switch. It's usually the case is it got dirty/corroded and the electrodes don't work anymore. Common issue, and there is a write up on how to fix it in the FAQ, go in there, alot of your problems are solved and have a write up for them!

Welcome.

Welcome to the world of Hondas. Now to fix your roof, refer to this thread:
http://www.performanceforum.co....html

Sunroofs weigh about 85lbs, and it is best to just put a dx/hf roof in. Thats what I'm planning on doing.

I'll kill you man! I will!!!

I'm not saying I like weigh, seeing I own the lightest hatch, and took all the sound deadening out. I'm just saying, my prelude has a sunroof and it's the best sometimes when it's a little cold out, and you don't want the fan on, but you want fresh air, open the sunroof and it's the perfect temp to wind blowing ratio...yaaaa.

PS: Currently under the use of codeine, I hate beind sick and tynenol is my friend.
