Default <b>Ef w/ Y8 help!!!

Hi! I jus bought a non running ef and even more recently bought my friends y8. I am kinda new to swaps but i was wondering about keeping my hydro tranny. What would i need to do to keep it a hydro besides making tranny mounts, would i be saving money by keepin my y8 tranny? Also if i do go to a z6 cable tranny, will it be as easy as mounting it up, what else do i need to get it working? Also i with it being obd2, will i need a new console or will it work with my current speedo n tach. I am not sure if i need to buy motor mounts or not also to fit my y8, will it mountup w/ my stock mounts? BTW i have a 1990 Civic Hatch DX. Thank You for reading!

No you will not be saving time or money by trying to make custom mounts for the hydro tranny, and mounting up all the hydro stuff.

You will need to use your D-series cable tranny, clutch, and flywheel. will need to use your stock D-series mounts, and driver side mount bracket

Even though the motor is obd2 you can still run a obd1 p28 ecu with a obd0 to obd1 jumper harness, you have a DX so you will also have to do a dpfi to mpfi conversion on your current engine harness.

Yes your tach will still work, and your speedo will still work also if you use the D-series cable tranny (wich you will have to)

Hope that helps you out

That car looks like it's in pretty good condition.

Look at my project thread and paint the bumpers and trim like I did. It'll look 100% better.
