Default Solved:Strange Hesitation/Sputtering and Main Fuse Blowing

My alternator died one day, so i replaced it w/ a new one.

A few days later, my car started a random hesitation. it seemed like the car wasnt getting fuel or spark or something. it did it randomly, all speeds all rpms.

Then all of a sudden my car shut down on the highway, it was the main battery fuse (70A). Replaced it and went on my way, with the car intermittenly sputtering...

Fast foward to 6 more fuses blown and the last one in ohio on my trip to md. Me and my friends traced the short in my system to my brand new alternator. We disconnect the alternator and drive on the battery alone to the nearest autozone and we replace the alternator in the parking lot.

Turns out there was a little metal ball inside the alternator bouncing around causing a short (the hesitation) and then getting stuck causing the fuse to blow.

Thank goodness for friends on road trips. I wouldnt have figured it out alone
