Paint Experts! Read.
I have a white 89 Civic hatch DX. I'm getting the hook-ups on painting the bumpers, door handles, moulding, and mirror for $50. Basically, cost of paint I guess.
Anyhow...obviously my car is 14 years old. Never been in an accident...paint is ok...with very little gloss.
Now...when I get these parts painted...how hard is it to match to the original paint - color and shine? I don't want to look like these riceboys with a two-toned white car - becuase they got a cheap *** paintjob. Any comments greatly appreciated.

How hard is it to match black paint?
I was thinking that black would be really really easy to match because black is black, unless it is grey or something........so you are saying that the clearcoat wouldn't match because it would shine differently, right?
Thanks!
Thanks!

whatever you do don't get clear sprayed. It looks all nice and shiney but it stains so easily. Have them shoot the car witha single stage enamel gloss paint. Also try to stay away from shitty paints such as dupont and valspar. Ideally you would want to spray with PPG enamel gloss single stage but it is against the law in most states.
they arent gonna match i work in a body shop and even on new cars we blend the paint around where the new part is, the new painted stuff is not going to match ask how much it would cost to blend into the fenders and hood ect.
Well...thanks guys.
I've decided to probably paint the whole car.
See what kind of deal this guy will give me. We are exchanging work-related favors. So maybe all I have to is pay for the paint.
I was thinking of painting it ITR Yellow throw some ROTA/Spoons on it. Anyone got a pic of a car with this setup? Spoon EF - Yum.
