Hey guys.

I just came across a deal, it seems pretty decent. a 96' or 97', cant remember, ls integra motor for 400 bucks. The guy clames that it has super low milage, like 30k. But...the motor smokes he says. They did a compression test and it holds true. he says its the valves. Is it possible for a motor too smoke and only be the valves. and if it is a valve problem would the head have too come off? Just wondering. Im wanting too put this motor my crx. I also found a cable b18 tranny for 125. does this sound like a good deal??

Yes, if a head needs a valve job then it is very possible for it to smoke. The better test for this would be leak down.

 

well...what do you think. is it worth 400 bucks if I have to yank the head and get a valve job?

 

try putting valve cleaning fluid in your gas thank

 

I wouldnt pay 4 for it personally. You KNOW it needs work. He SAYS its not the block...Kinda risky for $400...
I would maybe pay 3 for it....Im sure you could find a better deal somewhere.

 

Don't do it I can get a full b18 at the junkyard here for 150...... 300 with a 30 day start up warranty!

If it only has 30K it shouldn't be smoking from bad vlave seals

As stated above I can get LS for like $100 at the pick and pull and they have some miles on them but I'd rather that than paying 300-400 for one

 

well im deff. interested in getting a b18 for that cheap!
