Can't align marks on camgears
Hello dudes
I thought it would be best if I just made another topic cuz that other problem with TDC mark on pulley is solved
I'v this problem that's eating my brain for last couple of hours... I just can't get the 4 marks on camgears aligned.. BUt then I checked the Workshop manual of Honda's D16a9 engine and it tells me to align only the inner two marks and just let the up marks face up.. so.. This is what I have now... I really want to make a test run.. so please by god.. tell me this is ok.
Especially the intake cam is beeing a bitch right now, hard to manouvre and all, but this is what I came up with
Is this oke now?

Looks good to me. I went through the same thing and yeah, both my gears are a hair off. I cant do anything about it, its because of the belt.
I ******* hate my timing belt. I've had to redo it like 5 or 6 times, literally.

What timing belt are you running? I heard the 2.0L 88 prelude DOHC is the same belt as a DOHC ZC.

oke, I think it's all set to go BUT of course I'm confused about something else now..
in the Workshop manual of honda you see in the section Timing belt replacement that you have to align the white mark with the Notch on the belt cover.. but how serious do you have to take this?
I mean, do you have to position yourself right above the notch.. and then look down.
or do you have to follow the path the arrow is printed on the engine or the notch is printed on the belt cover..

Thats the one I'm running. Its still not perfect though, for some reason. Maybe its just my engine.
Puk: Look the way the workshop manual tells you to. From the pic though, it looks like your pretty damn close.

Its like sighting a gun, just line up the pointer and the groove. When they are, you have the right viewing angle. Then align the white mark with the thing sticking up.

take off the crank pulley and take the timing belt cover off then align the crank sprocket with the oil pump line and the pic of the cams you have looks good!! now double check by tuning the engine over a few times and check again that all the marks are align and you are all set !!
