Default Best Water Pump

for the reason of trying to get my car running cooler, I am going to change the water pump as it has 100k on it but looked fine when the belt was changed.

Does anyone make a good aftermarket pump that outperforms the stock one? Or would I be better off going back with an OEM pump. I am a little hesitant to use an Auto Zone or something like that.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Your best bet is to go with an OEM unit, but if you want to get real crazy you can go with the Mezier electric unit.

probably the way I am going to go just for peace of mind.....

I was thinking maybe someone made a bigger, better, faster version like you can get for old school hot-rods and such.....looks like not!

get a better radiator and/or different thermostat if you want it to run cooler. dont get too cool though because the ECU will think the car isnt fully warmed up and will stay in warm up mode.

Reliability = OEM
Better performance = Meziere

I have a Meziere pump on my daily-driven ITR. I've had it for over two years and it works great. As long as you don't put any weird additives in your coolant/antifreeze you will be fine. The electric pump cools A LOT better than OEM. I had to drill a few holes in my thermostat to make the car's temp reach normal operating temp to avoid having the car in warm-up mode. Its a good piece of hardware.
