Default Swapping gearing too difficult/pricey?

Well I am in process of my manual swap and have a CX tranny.. Is it worth it to take apart this thing for an ideal gear ratio or final drive or whatever.. or not??

I am fairly mechanically inclined.. and i dont see a whole lot of info on this..

Also pricing.. EX tranny= much cheaper then doing this? Or could i possibly get a better ratio then that??

most aftermarket final drives go for $500 and up. you can easily find the info to swap to an EX final drive. its not too difficult, i personally havent done it but watched one of the best do it to mine and it wasnt much work at all. definately cheaper to pick up a used ex tranny and use it if you trust the condition, or use the FD.

Don't use that CX tranny unless you are boosted. The gear ratios are terribly long!

ok im at work on my phone so bad punctuation.. anyone do the math for the tranny.... i am going to boost but i thought shorter gears are better either way.... anyone calculate how close it would be to an ex tranny? is it an easy transfer?
