Transmission fluid cleans injectors and ur fuel system!!!
MY mechanic told me that tranny fluid does a better job at cleaning out ur injecters and fuel filter than the bottled fuel system cleaners and injector cleaners. How true is this???
heres what you do, before an oil change, you dump half a quart of ATF into the crankcase, then you run it for 15-30 mins. then you do your oil change. Dunno if its too effective, but I hear people say it works very well.
You guys should search on s2ki.com forums for a user RoadRage. He is an oil engineer, and has done a relatively thorough breakdown on the different types of fuel system cleaners.
MTF and ATF were NOT mentioned, however. Is it really that hard to buy a bottle of Techron, which is actually suited for the job?

Similar to the other ideas but you can also use ATF and pour a small amount onto the piston after removing hte plugs and is supposed to help with reconditioning seals. Not something I would attempt with a go motor, but it worked in a stock motor of mine.
The reason I wanted to know is because I have a a box of ATF. anyways I tried it. I noticed the trottle in neutral was more stable than before.
maybe I'll see some improvement on accel soon

I'm kind of afraid to run something like Seafoam through my engine. My engine has 234K miles on it now, and it runs pretty darn good as it is (I run fuel injector cleaner every 3K miles, fuel system cleaner every 12K miles). It doesn't really smoke or leak any oil at all. I'm just afraid that running something like Seafoam might make it start smoking or leaking where it wasn't doing it before.
