Default Exhaust System

I recently installed an SRI and I want to get a new exhaust system to compliment that. I’ve read about back pressure and pipe diameter but I’m still confused on what to get. Any help/suggestions? it's a 97 accord lx 4cyl auto

greddy, apexi, invidia, flowmaster, RS*R, skunk 2, tanabe, they all make good exhausts for the 5th gen accord, it all depends on your budget and your future plans though. just dont forget to research, and you always get what you pay for.

On F series engines it's just a nice low rumble. But with your auto tranny.... everyone's gonna know it

I love Flowmasters don't get me wrong but they belong on a V8 not a little 4 cyl. Everyone I have heard on a 4cyl has sounded shitty. I love how they sound on a nice v8 though. I guess thats why I run one on my truck. Idk about magnaflow but I personally would by the Invidia or get a Apexi N1 and have custom piping made. The Invidia will probably be a little cheaper route. The Skunk 2 and Invidia are also pretty much all the same. I have an Invidia on my 96 and like it a lot other than the fact it is pretty loud. If you don't want loud I'd get the Apexi WS2 as it seems like about the only choice for quiet.

would a performance muffler, say from Injen, yield me anything without replacing the entire exhaust system?

Everything I've read suggests just sound no really differnce in power unless you get a cat-back. I don't know for sure that that is correct as I've never dyno tested it but I strongly suspect if it gains you any power it will be very little.

I do not know injen will sell a "can" alone, i could be wrong tho'

Just get a can for looks but if you want anything serious, get the whole system.

get what you need and don't get sucker to pay more.

apexi sells a whole line of "can" that you could get, just don't expect any gain for this mod.
