Default VTEC OIL PRESSURE

Would lack of oil pressure(ex. very thin oil line) cause vtec not to crack very hard? Would there be a diffence if I got a bigger line. The old one is 1/8" and the ne one is 1/2"

vtec either works or doesnt work. nothing in between. low oil pressure would cause it not to work though, yes.

you mean its cutting in and out???? or sometimes it doesnt work at all? How much oil do you have in the engine? Have you tried to clean out the screen for the solenoid?

is this another one of those "vtec doesnt kick in b/c i cant feel it" threads. the vtec is supposed to be a smooth transition if you want a boost in power that you can feel get nitrous.

make sure the engine is warmed up,vtec will not engage below a certain temperature

nevermind... Your useless posts are no help for me. I just asked a legitmate question wondering if oil pressure has anything to do with how aggressive vtec is and i get this bullshit.

IF you "get it" then you would know that how hard VTEC "cracks" has nothing to due with the line.

If anything a smaller line would increase the pressure, therefore ensuring VTEC engagement. Whats your oil pressure like? Any CEL's?

the "cracking" sound you would here is the more agressive cam once vtec turns on, oil pressure has nothing to do with how its sounds, all it does is turns it on and off, provided you have enough pressure, and working knock sensor, speedo, and a vtec oil pressure switch as well as the solenoid.

well, if you took the time to search or just read a few "my vtec isnt working threads" you would know how to figure out if it is or not. i understand you have an LS/vtec so vtec does make a huge differance when it engages, but you say you know well enough that its not, so why not figure out why???
