Default amp recommendations

I recently purchased 1-12in 2 ohm subwoofer I need a mono block amplifier w/ a built in crossover thats 1 ohm stable at least 300 watts and not too expensive. The size of amp does matter it needs to be able to fit under the seat of a civic. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Chris

is your speaker a dvc or a svc. If its a svc your mono amp does not have to be one ohm stable. Because you don't bride a mono amp. Search ebay if you are trying to find something cheap. But you get what you pay for. I shipping out three amps right now because of this fact. Check your local bb or cc for open box items. You can get a good deal there. Or you could go used but you would never know how the amp was treated.

any amp that puts out the rms that you need for your sub. What is your budget ? this will help out alot. Are you tying to stay name brand-mtx-pioneer-kicker-zappco or such. If you go by name your going to open a flood gate because people are going to post what they have in there trunks.

I don't really care about the name as long as the quality is good. I think the rms on my sub is 200-400 watts something like that. I don't need the most powerful amp in the world just one that can handle 400 watts easily.

What is the make and model of the sub, need to know what the continuous power handling of the sub is, "200-400 watts something like that" is not going to help, if it's 200W then a 1x200W into 2 ohms will work, but if it's 400W then a 200W amp would be under-powering the sub by 200W.
You may want to take a look at the JL Audio amps, [slash series] less then 2 1/2" tall, and very good quality... http://mobile.jlaudio.com/prod...id=10 94

With a 1200W peak, I would guess the subs "RMS" rating is 500W, on which case the JL Audio 500/1 would be a great amp for it. 94

if your looking for a good reliable amp that's not to expensive. check out kicker and rockford. there both good quality with good power rating and they'll last if hooked up properly. JL amps are also good but I think there overpriced. depends on what you want to pay.
I've been using kicker and rockford for over 6 years and there both excellent quality.

Im probably going to get flamed for this but: bazooka ba1300 is 300rms at 2ohms. I have one... I like it.. it's a nice amp for what you pay, I paid 120 at circuit city and also recieved a mail in rebate for a free remote bass control. very good quality, I've had mine for about 3 years now and it still works awesome.
