So I think I figured out why my car is louder and has a lumpier exhaust note. I found a tear where the exhaust pipe connects to the resonator? The tear is about .5 inches across and 2-3 inches in length.
I should be able to take it a muffler shop and they can weld in back in place? Im pretty sure just double checking on HT. Anybody know how much that costs? Any other ways to fix or is welding it back on the only choice?

Cracks in resonator/pipe joints are quite a pain... I had one cracked, the guy welded the exterior resonator can up, 3 days later the one inside gives. I just ended up cutting the resonator out and put a straight pipe section in. Now it buzzes whenever seconds stage intake kicks in.
Get a new exhaust if u are doing mods.

When I bought the car the guy told me he had just straight piping which is why the car buzzed from underneath when it first starts up. So im not sure why the resonator is still there then.
Its straight piping with a universal hayame muffler. Maybe ill just go buy a whole new catback exhaust.

if you wanna be cheap, just get it patched up at a muffler shop. i don't see it costing too much, especially if they mig weld it. but a new catback would probably be better for future purposes.
