Default Weird Idle this morning

Not sure what would cause this:

When I got in my car this morning to head to work and started it up, it struggled to keep an idle and even died once. Then, once I tried again, it struggled a bit, I gave it some gas (throttle) and it soon after smoothed out and everthing was fine....

Anyway, just some extra information. I washed it 2 days ago and hadn't driven it since then and its very humid around here. Could the moisture in the air gotten to the car and made it act up

Or, does this sound like something electrical like the distributor, being the car has 98,000 miles and is 9 years old, I'm guessing the distributor or the alternator could go any day

Larkin who hopes the car starts after work

ehhh something like that could be just about anything

did you happen to notice any smoke from the exhaust when this occured?

I had a similar situation on my civic, and it got progressively worse. Rough starts, rough idle at initial startup, would take a couple tries sometimes and eventually wouldnt start at all. I couldnt figure it out for the life of me. I even went so far as removing the head, doing the timing belt, head gasket, cap/rotor, main relays, fuel pumps, plugs/wires, etc. I honestly never figured it out for certain. But one day I noticed my distributor cap didnt seat completely on the distributor, and there was a small gap on the bottom side. I think I may have been getting moisture/dew/water in there and if the car sat an extended period of time, the connections inside would begin to corrode.

No smoke. I looked at that right away, just an annoying idle. I'll check the distributor, but it should be okay. I wouldn't be surprised if it goes any time.

Hopefully, it was just a one time weird thing.

Could a clogged cat cause something like this?

Happened to me one 6 weeks ago and hasn't returned, so i would like to know what it is as well.

Mine definitely wouldn't be a clogged cat. I installed a T1R Resonated testpipe 1.5 weeks ago

i attribute it to fuel system clog or something... my car does that whenever i let it sit for a day or so... fuel pressure down to 0, and then when it does start up it struggles bogs and then starts up. and then its fine. injectors? something...
