My 97 Accord SE Auto shifts pretty abruptly and can't decide what gear it wants when I hit certain speeds.. it will drop down to 2nd gear for a split second then go back to 3rd at times.. Pretty annoying and jerky.. Otherwise, it seems to work fine from a stop position to a go position.. but anything in between that it wants to change gears when it shouldn't.. Any ideas? Should I change the tranny fluid?
Edit: I have no CEL or flashing D4 (or any other D#) light.

First of all I would change the fluid with ATF Z1 and then see what happens.
It's possible the throttle pressure cable could be out of adjustment but i don't think that affects shift timing. Just shift firmness

I think my gf's 96 is starting to develop something like that. I had the tranny flushed before but all they did was drain the fluid on the lift and add new honda atf in but from what i understand that doesn't completely drain out the old fluid. I'm going to have it done again but I'm gonna switch to Royal Purple atf.
