Wut kind of cat?
You should go with a universal one when your almost due for smog. I would'nt get it just yet, cause those cats last around two years. The high flow cats are o.k. but they don't give any horsepower, people thnk more flow more power. And you don't want to pay for a factory one cause they will run you about $700.-$750.

does a carsound cat make a lot of noise compared to the stock one? I'm not looking for sound, im looking for one that will work well and not pay too much for one.

Since it sounds like you just want a replacement unit, the cheapest and most environmentally friendly one would be to get a universal carsound unit and have your local muffler shop weld it in.
