Default Help finding a cat delete

First off, if you're looking to tell me not to take the cat off for whatever reason, then don't post. I don't wanna hear it.

I did a forum search for cat delete that turned up zilch, basically what I'm looking for is a cat delete that actually looks like a cat. My buddy found one off of eBay for $20 and he is looking for one for me, but I was wondering if anyone knew a company that sells them. My state doesn't sniff test they just look under the car, so it won't matter if there is actually a cat or not, as long as it looks like one. I'm also getting an o2 spacer for it so the CEL won't come on and fuel/air trim will be stock, so it won't run really rich or smell too bad.

Anyone know an easy way to find one?

This will pass for visuals. It's kind of wide so it looks like a high flow cat. It's straight through but has resonating properties. Makes ur car sound nice, with a stock exhaust system. Noticeable power gains at High rpm and i noticed 2-3mpg gain. I'm driving a 96' vtec. At first it threw the CEL but then it went away. Has to do with the o2 sensor on the cat. If it doesn't go away for u, u will need to get an o2 bung and have it welded somewhere else on ur pipe anywhere u want and get an o2 simulator the u screw into the bung, then screw the o2 sensor in. This causes the 1st and 2nd o2 to have different readings, therefore pleasing the ECU. This cat will fit 92-01 prelude of any model or engine.

PS - If it doesn't pass, take it to another shop until they do pass it. Otherwise just throw the stock on for inspection once a year or once every 2 years. No Big Deal.

Thanks guys. I'm not really looking for an ECS, I'm on a limited budget and I like simple stuff. Less parts, less problems. For the first suggestion I think you found exactly what I'm looking for, however the product the link shows are for 91-96 ludes, says nothing about 96+ years...

Why not just leave it alone? Are you expecting a horsepower increase from this?

cut the medal case off your stock cat and weld it on to a test pipe

If your going to do this the best thing would to just have a custom exhaust built with your choice of universal muffler and have them build it from the header back. From my experience having all these flanges just means leaks down the road.

I think you could weld that to any exhaust. All your doing is routing pipe around your cat, so its straight out, and if your looking to spend 500 to 700 bucks on a decent cat back exhaust, then another 180 aint bad

I'm not going to leave it alone because my cat is shot, there's something rattling inside and it rattles everytime I shut the door, it's really annoying. And with the engine I gotta buy I don't want to spend $100+ on a hi-flow cat. Anyway I found just what I was looking for on eBay for $10. So if that doesn't turn out well I'll just fab one up.

Thread not closed just yet.lol

Have you considered removing the catalytic core on your cat??? I have done this on my setup, works great. Simply use a long chissel and hammer etc and wack the honey comb till it's clean (takes around 30min!). I didn't take any pics, but it's simple enough. Bonus is that it looks like a stock cat except it doesn't function like one! Cheapest way to go plus you dont feel bad demolishing a cat if it's already stuffed!

Yeah but the only problem with that is that your going to have a bottle neck if you get a 2.5 in exhaust.

Well I went ahead and ordered the tp, I'm going to keep the old cat, because with it I was able to pass inspection, so if I do need to go through inspection again (my state is getting rid of inspections, but may still do emissions testing) I can just throw the cat back on for the day.
