Anyone know the compression ratio for a B18B1 with a B16 head CTR pistons
I know that a B18B1 with CTR pistons is around 12:5:1, does anyone know what the compression ratio would be on a B18B1 with a B16 head with CTR pistons. thanks
When I run those numbers through my head I come up with 11.973719167158128:1...Just kiddin, I used the compression calculator at:

Very cool website, you may want to double check your setup for your comp, I may not have entered it all right (I used OEM 3 layer head gasket, etc)....Enjoy

Try about 13.1 assuming your head hasn't been milled and the block hasn't been decked.
Keep in mind that the cspeed calculator is not acurate as the piston to deck height of PCT pistons in an LS block is ZERO.
HTH.

thanks I apperiate it. I want to rebuild my B18 when i put my b16 head on and just trying yo figure out a good combo
IMO, your safest bet would be b16 pistons (either JDM or USDM) both will put you above 11:1. USDM are the cheapest and easiest to source. once you go 12+ you'll need a good tune to make it run on pump gas. also take in to consideration the size of the dome. if you're running cams which i think you should with the high CR, make sure your valves don't hit the pistons. clay the motor for clearances.
if any of it is bullshit please correct me on it....this is only taken from research i've done, i don't have any first hand experience....yet
