Default crx overheat removing thermo

Hey guys my friend crx is overheating. Is it possible if we can just remove the thermostat with no problems and run no thermo. I was thinking no thermo will help engine run cooler which will keep coolant flowing continuously. How do you remove thermo on crx si? Just curious. Yes no fans work, but he doesnt want to invest since its beat up crx daily driven

It will take a long time to get up to temp if it even does. When does his car overheat? Im guessing at idle and stop and go since you said no fans work.

follow the bottom radiator hose up to where it meets teh block. remove the two bolts holding that housing on, and pull the thermostat out.

i stil don't recommend running no thermo though, but that's how you do it.

dont forget to un hook the battery, there is a ground on the housing and you dont want to mess up anything

why not just rig up a quick switch to make the fans work when you flip this switch, and just turn it on when you drive and turn it off when you dont, i think its easier, and cleaner than getting that radiator fluid all on you

that stuff gets in your pores and you smell like it for awhile. it should be hard,

I removed mine liast night, just 2 10mm bolts (1 is HARD AS **** to get to though)

Only thing that sucks is the coolant going everywhere I suppose, but I run straight water anyways

Itll defientely cool him down more, alot of people just jump the fan with a paperclip to have it running all the time when the car is on

Well, I just want to let you know that your computer is looking at temp so it can go into closed loop. Closed loop is when the computer is acting on it's readings from various sensors not just a basic programmed setting.

My suggestion is to either hardwire the fan or go to the junkyard and get one.

Depending on your driving it would be worth it to fix it because your gas mileage will suffer badly. And at todays prices you would make up for the cost of a junkyard fan. That is if the fan is actually bad.

Will you check the fan switch connection under the dizzy. It is a single wire going to a sensor in the head. Might be just that!
