Default keyless for 99 works for 98?

can the stock factory keyless system from 1999 work in 1998? if so what parts do i need from the 1999 car that i need to put in the 1998 to make everthing work? Thanks (just asking cause i heard someone that it wont work)

before you start swapping parts, just try programming the remote. somebody chime in, does the 98 come "keyless-ready?"

thats the thing, the 98 lude didnt come stock with the keyless entry it was an upgrade but the for 99 and up lude it was standard. Thanks

no problem. do a search for "program keyless" and try it. if it works, cool. if not, maybe you have to add stuff.

probably be easier and wiser to install a alarm with keyless

i totally agree with rather having OEM keyless entry, but after ppl trying to break into my lude, i got an alarm, the alarm overrides the oem keyless entry, but gotta have security..

ya, i checked out the rear quater panel where the keyless entry modual thing is suppose to be at, and its not there. So besides that and the key, do i need anything else to be swaped over to make it work? thanks
