Default What is this b18a motor and trannsmisson worth

I was at a local salvage yard getting my 90-93 brake booster/master cylinder and proportional valve for my rear disc brake swap on my 90 honda civic dx.

The car was hit hard in the pass side but has no visual damage to the engine compartment.

The guy told me 550 for the motor and tranny(front clip). the car has 168,000 miles on the car.

What is the going rate for motors in this mileage range. I am wanting to put a turbo motor in my crx.

Any advise would be appreciated

i would'nt pay any more than $300 for the whole clip with that kinda mileage, hell i bought a complete DA that was hit with 92,000 on it for $200

If the transmission shifts smoothly, that's not a bad price if everything is included. You should offer up that amount, or maybe a little more, for the whole car. You can use drivetrain, brakes, various electrical parts, lip.....the DA is a gold mine for us.

But everyone on H-T gets GSR swaps in trade for bologna sandwiches

Eh yea if it included everything then it might be worth it...but to give you an idea, my local pick and pull it would be about $160 for the motor and trans, with any amount of miles on it...but you have to pull it, so if they are pulling it for you then mayb

He told me it was the price for the front clip.
motor tranny mounts ecu harness etc.

I am not sure it is worth getting the whole car. It was hit hard on the passenger side from the door back. The seat are no good. the pass side rear brake assembly is bent. taillight are smashed.

What do you think i should offer him cash to see if he will bite?

wid that kind of mileage.... the highest i would go is $300... even if its a front clip... i mean if you sell everything else if you do pay $500 you might get your moneys worth... but that really depends on you... just remember wid that kind of mileage you might want to consider to rebuilding your engine... before boosting it..

I got my unkown mielage B18B for $150, so you can gauge how much to offer him in cash. Runs strong.
