Default Pulled Torque converter clutch code

I got a p0740 code which read Torque converter clutch circuit malfunction. The car is a 96 accord. It will not move in any Drive gears, 1,2,3 or 4. It will however move in reverse. My question is does this sound like i need a new tranny or just the torque converter?

First thing you could do is to pull the solenoids off and check if the screens are plugged up, look for a wet cardboard fiber stuff. If they are plugged up like that then the TC is probably coming apart.

Mine threw this code also but ran fine. I cleared it and it never came back. Sorry I couldn't help you with your problem but I'd be in for the answer.
