Default My CEL Blinked once

Ok, so i read up on how to jump the blue connector near my ECU to check my code.
After i jumped it i turned on my car, CEL blinked once, then stayed solid. this happened everytime i tried. Does this mean i was doing it wrong or is it CEL Code 1?

Sounds like you turned the car on. Just put the jumper in and turn the key to the stage right before ignition where all the lights on the dashboard light up but NOT far enough to the point where it cranks. You DO NOT want to crank it, just the stage right before there where the lights do diagnostics and you can roll up the windows and ****. THen the light will flash accordingly.

I know that it wasnt supposed to be cranked, just to when the lights on the dash came on, the step b4 ignition. anyway i know i was reading the code it blinked once that was it then was solid. When i learned the trick i did it a few months ago on a 88 civic and it would repeat the same code over and over again. but on my 98 civic it went solid after one blink. is it a difference between the two cars? or am i not doing it right?

referring to the CEL Code 1, i dont think thats it, i was having ignition problems when this code came into play so i dont think its the correct code which is why i keep asking if im doing it right.

The 88' Civic has a OBD-0 ecu whereas the 98' is OBD2. You can check the codes on the 98' by hooking up a scantool to the 16 pin connector under the panel that lies underneath steering column or have Autozone check it out for free. The 88' civic you would have to look at the ecu to pull codes, that's OBD0. To check codes by the flashes of the CEL, it has to be OBD1 compatible. The 96' & newer vehicles(OBD2) when your CEL blinks that means you have a soft code.
