Go with the GSR tranny. The gearing is a little more suitable than an LS for an NA build.

im running a built b-20 w/vtec all NA and im running a b16 tranny with short throw and a stage 4 clutch (awesome for racing...not for daily driving >_< ). I like the b16 becuase of its gearing. its not the best on gas but its good for freeway racing. downside.... at like 75 MPH in 5th im at like 4000 rpms (give or take) but the upside is im at 4000 rpms and i never have to drop it to race. I've beaten evos and sti's without droppin it into 4th, so its cool. i just need to add some ls onto it. its good stuff though. my buddy has gsr tranny and loves it. so i guess its all about what you want. gas economy in 5th, or a little more instant power in 5th.

hoped i could help

with N/A on a 4 cylinder youre gonna need all the help you can get. i would say go with the b16 tranny but seeing as youre building up a b20, you wont too your gears too close. so gsr it is.

knockout is correct, if it an daily driver i would recommand a gsr tranny...i too have one for my b20...and 5th gear at 80mph i am at 4000rpm (redline at 6200, so your not that far away)...not the best gas mileage for trannys...but if you have a b16 or even a ITR tranny...it will be fast on gears, but gas will kill you

side note...i get about 30+ mph on my b20/gsr tranny

yea, and IMO the gsr tranny has the best gearing overall, its not long but its long enough to where you are in the power range without guzzling your gas with a b16 tranny.

you could use an ls tranny seeing as how you have a b20 and your power band is lower, but if its all motor, you'll need all the help you can get to actually be fast.

"fast" im sorry but a b20 in a civic is realiticly way faster then anyone would need to start with. LS tranny would really do. now if you want to race, its a diffrent situation, just make sure its on a track please...

well i guess it depends on what each person considers "fast". but thats niether here nor there.

the LS would be better on gas/slower acceleration,
a gsr would be okay on gas/pretty good acceleration,
and a b16 tranny would suck on gas/have good acceleration.

choose what you want, but IMO the gsr has the best combination of gas mileage vs. acceleration.

wow...i wish i got 30 or more miles on my b20/b16 tranny. im averaging like 25 right now, and thats with a little racing thrown in. but...then again i read like at like 8500 and im nearly fully built. so not too bad i suppose. plus got the vtec
