ok my 96 acura ls has 165000 miles and now when i start my car the maintece reqired flash for 10 seconds and goes away my car is running fine no smoke no idle promblems it has oil and was just changed today. what reason other then sceduled maintence does this light up ? thank to those who help. And i know i cant spell i learn to live with it.

 

That light is just a timer circuit. There is a square black button beneath the dash that resets it.

 

The light is just a reminder to get your car maintenced, eventually it will light up solid instead of flashing. To turn the maintence light off turn key over to power but don't start car, there's a little box with a small button under the panel which lies under steering column. Press and hold that button until light shuts off.
