hey, i've never done a B-series swap, but i would have known to notch the crossmember. i've seen people do some dumb things, and i wanted to be sure that he didn't follow the formal syntax of your statement - which would have instructed him to notch the header.

if you've got access to a welder, it'd probably best to cut out a clearance area then box it back in. otherwise, you are stuck with the "cut and bash" method.

make a couple vertical cuts on either side of the area where the header rubs, deep enough that the header would clear, then beat the area between the cuts with a BFH until it goes concave. re-install.

cool, so i got the crossmember out (piece of cake) and installed the header expecting everything to line up. well it didnt. oh well, im taking a breakfast break and going at it again. the metal seems to be forgiving so im taking a hammer to it and spraying it black after words. no one will know.lol

ok, got the header in, crossmember finished. i took it for a test drive and i can hear this annoying clicking sound. its almost like a midget shaking a bottle with a nut in it. its weird. only when im on the throttle.

BTW, i can tell a difference in acceleration and its hella loud. lol
