Is a manual going to be a pain as a daily driver for around 10 years?
I talked to a couple people in there 40's and 50's and they said it is too much of a hassle to drive with one. I am 22

I think those people r preobally just lazy. My dad who is 55 still daily drives his 6 spd CL-S and didn't even consider getting an automatic.

If you have to ask that question, you might as well just get an auto right now... My dad is 46 and all his cars are manual. Thats what i learned on and all I have ever owned. I believe that sports cars should only come in manual.

Its all personal preference. As a daily driver i myself now enjoy an auto more the older i get. My rsx which i drove for almost 3 years was manual. My Altima now is an auto. As much as i loved the rsx, im glad i have an auto now.

ehh its not that bad gets annoying when u try to use ur cella phone but other than that i tihnk its good..i know i drive my moms TL sometimes and its a auto and im so used to driving my car that i try to shift gears and use the clutch on it someimtes but its ur preference dude
I don't want my left foot to get bored so I go manual. Although, come bumper to bumper traffic, I wouldn't mind an auto. But luckily that's only one or twice a year so, I'll take stick any day.

depends if you're really lazy most of the time...
i live in LA and most of the freeways here are traffic(depending on the time of day) and it doesnt seem to bother me...
its just a matter of getting used to it and making it to be a habit. it just gets to a point when you dont even have to think about it.

I have to be the oldest guy on this or any other gearhead board, and I can assure you that, for me, driving a manual transmission car has never been a "pain". I love 'em. Always have, always will.

If you are 22 now and keeping the car for ten years that will make you 32, the same age I happen to be. I still very much enjoy driving a manual and if I were buying a car today wouldnt give any thought to buying an auto tranny.

I am 50 and don't have any particular issue w/my six speed Accord.
I am frequently in traffic in NoVA.
I guess you just have to decide if it's worth it to you.

All of my trucks will probably be manual trannys just because of towing and other factors, but any car that I buy for myself will be a manual for several years down the road.
To put it simply--I'll drive a manual as long as I am able to.

And the longer you do it, the longer you'll be able to.

Get a headset or something. If someone's on the phone and they do something screwy with their driving, they're ALWAYS holding it like a regular phone.
I'd rather not have anyone talking on a cell phone while they're driving, but if they must, holding it with one hand is not the way to go. Get a headset, earpiece, or whatever, leave it in the car, and use it whenever you feel that you have to be on the phone while driving.

my dads 45 and still drives manual daily(mazda 3) and my friends grandfather is 80 years old and to this day is still driving a manual truck
Manual tranny FTW!! Only in the very worst stop and go traffic have I even thought about wanting an auto, but that passes once we get moving again
