Hey guys, hows it going????
Well I am considering on lowering my car, on some springs until i bust my shocks, I'm gonna get a ride in TypeR 599's car at the SoCal meet on Sunday to see how I like his Spoon springs. But I also remember the thread about the KG/MM Springs.
I want some nice springs that wont hurt my oem suspension. I'm looking for something that will minimize body roll, and i dont want to "slam it to the ground" just a descent drop 20-30mm at most, because i dont want to be forced on getting a camber kit. I had my mind set on the Spoons, until i read about the kg/mm springs. So now im open to anything thats good.
My plans are ( i know they are stupid, so keep the flaming to a minimun) to buy a set of springs, and put them on until I bust my shocks, and then buy some Tein's. What do you guys recomend, price wise, performance wise, qualitiy wise, and ride comfort.
Thanks

i know everyone is going to call me gay for not having a JDM suspension but ground control is just fine for me
any more opinions.....??
We can go on and on and on and on. But I think JDM is overrated. Just my $0.02. There are ALOT of options. GC coilovers are pretty good. Not a harsh ride at all. Maximum performance with minimal comfort sacrificed.
I have Skunk2's with stock shocks.

If all you want is the look without makeing the handling worse, look at the ITR specific H&R sport springs. Nice even drop, and they are pretty cheap.

Which JDM dampers have you driven on? Care to give us a little review on what makes you feel that they're overrated?

that is a great setup and still alot for most of us.
well, i got some Tein spring (no, not coilovers) on my ITR, but i think they work just fine for now. it isn't slammed but it's a good ride height, 1.5" drop i think. it's also not too stiff/rough (feels like stock to me but i did noticed a "slight" handling gain durning hard cornering....i'm guessing either the gforce is lowered or it's the coil thatz doing it)
the coil of the spring is wide ----> narrow coils. and i paid like a fraction compared to HAs (i know i know it isn't HAs
) but it works well if u just want to lower it for now.

All these multi-post 'what springs should I get' threads and not even a hint of a discussion of spring rates.
What a bunch of ricers.

Thanks guys
Well, sir, once people give opinions on springs, you can go to the manufacturer's website to check spring rates

It is actually very difficult to find the spring rates of 'lowering' springs - many manufacturers list only the drop provided by the spring (which gives an indication of what these springs are really itended for) .

try finding reliable info on spring rates and you're SOL. that's why the JDM stuff sells... at least they publish their rates.
back to your original question... spoon or kg/mm springs... just because you KNOW the spring rates of what you are buying.

to me for trying to be smart
....After looking at a few websites, i realized that very few actually show the spring rates, the ones that do are generally JDM products. Anyone else??? kg/mm???
I currently run OBX adjustable and have ordered a GC/KONI setup. I have had the OBX for almost 2 years now and I have no complaints, except that they are not good for track, but IMO they are very good for street use, if I was not running SOLO2 I would keep them. I know alot of people will say WTF? OBX!! but they worked great for me, it may not be the best in the market but they have worked really well for me.
