Default d16z6 rev problems

well ok my stock z6 is just strange some days it revs fine and some days it hits rev limit at 5k. first off, yes my oil is full and yes its up to temp.

so anybody have the same problem or know what it could be

check the silinoid ones... im not sure if thats the problems im just giving my .02 on what it could be

My car did that once. Hit a premature rev limiter at around 5 grand also. Turned out the dizzy was bad and would not allow it to rev any higher. Don't know if thats your problem but its something you could check.

I drove it sat night and it actually hit a rev limiter at about 5000. After that it would rev higher but very very slowly. Sometimes it rev's to 7 just fine.

yeah probably check the grounds, and take the cap off and look at the rotor and the inside of the cap. They might be worn pretty bad.

they shouldnt be i replaced them both at i think the first of the year

maybe im wrong, but for me it sounds like u have a dirty cat converter. i had this problem before, sometimes it revs with no problem, after a while it started not letting me going more then 5k.

Maybe the cat but my buddy had that same problem and oil was in the dis. also check and clean you iavc.
