Default Compression guestimates

Well, I finally put together my new bottom end. The ingredients consist of:

1) used - C5 block (bored)
2) LS crank
3) LS rods
4) P73 pistons 81.25

ITR girdle and windage tray etc

I bought the block from somebody who spun a bearing but the top of the deck had some bruises that had to be machined off. The top of the deck was shaved by 0.008" I am going to use an OEM gasket. What would you guess my compression maybe?

Edit: Stock ITR head

Your compression = 0

No head = no compression.

Should be right around 11:1. A correct "Ls/vtec" setup...it should rip.

Note: You'll have to plug the oil squirters with some bolts. The crank will hit. If you're worried about heat get a jet coating on the top of the pistons.

I bent the oil squirter a little bit and it clears.

How did you get that calculation?

Compression ratio: Volume of the cylinder, piston dish and head dish and
headgasket from top to bottom of the stroke, divided by the head, piston,
and headgasket volume or:

bore(in.) x bore(in.) =__ x .7854 =__ x stroke (in.) =__/ .061=__cc of
cylinder + (head cc +piston cc + headgasket cc) / (head cc+ piston
cc+headgasket cc) = compression ratio

Ended up welding the holes shut. There is a concern about the rigidity of the squirter since we bent it.
