Default mini-me runs great with p05, crappy with p28

I just did a minime on a d15b8 (93 cx) with spare parts in my garage.

d16z6 complete head + dizzy
d16y8 manifold
IHE
S20 tranny

I wired vtec and ran it the first time with the stock p05 ECU.. runs great.

I tried 2 p28s and a chipped p72 (stock p28 map) and it runs like crap.... stutters, idles rough until its warm. no CEL though! vtec works like a champ and it runs great at WOT. it doesnt want to run with a vtec ECU... ?

Anybody have any ideas?

i think they are d16y8 injectors. possible they are d15b8 injectors... would this cause a problem? I know the d15b8 was running with the y8 manifold the way it is now.

i used your writeup BTW

D15B8/D15Z1 injectors are 180cc...you need the 240's from a Z6 or B7...that's most likely your problem

once again, you are awesome.

i took off from a light and it started knocking... like a spark knock. i had the impression that it was running lean for some reason. i thought d15b8 / p05 used 240cc injectors.

i just burned an uber chip on my p72 for 180cc injectors and it runs PERFECT. thanks again!

20min after my first post the problem is resolved

BTW, change them if you plan on doing anything besides a cone intake. 180cc is only good for 125whp completely maxed, and typically sohc vtec does ~100whp stock. Thats probably ~80% duty cycle 2/3 through both maps I'd bet. Mods will increase that, and going past 80% isn't usually a good practice.

Plus 240's are everywhere...I have too many sets as it is.
