Default TEIN SS and cutting bumpstops

Hey guys i have a 91 crx and recently bought some used tein ss from a friend. I went from prokit with blues to this. My question is im new to coilovers, do u have to cut the bumpstops or are they pretty much setup for whatever ride hide u decide to put ur car at. Also do teins have a shorter shaft for adjusting ride height

You don't cut the bumpstops. The tein's have the height adjustment with the shock body instead of the spring perch(like gc etc.). So don't touch the spring perch part.

not on the SS. that system is only on the newer tein suspensions like the FLEX.

generally speaking the bumpstops should be trimmed by about 66% to about 1.5" or so.

should you cut them from the bottom or the top of the bumpstop?

from the bottom up. The lower you go, the stiffer bump you want it.
