87 Accord LX engine problem?
this happened to a friend: he was almost on empty(gas) driving fine then he parked, filled up car, started it up again fine, drove home, but felt sluggish and then parked it, then a few hours later floored the car and it only went 10 MPH. it then died when parked 2 min later and doesn't start now. gas isn't registering? can anybody offer any advice? thanks
I think what probably happened is he got an air bubble in tbhe fuel line and he now needs to reprime the carb. Dont quote me on this as I am not totally sure. I am about 65% sure this is the problem

if that's the case, what should we do?
the car is just sitting right now..
thanks again
An air bubble in the line would come out eventually with driving and/or enough cranking. What it might have been is sediment and junk in the fuel tank just got sucked up with that last little bit of gas and clogged the fuel filter(s).Change those first! I think there may be one in the back and one in the front(not sure on this though). This is why many people never go below 1/4 tank.

HAHA you guys... well not to laugh at the problem...
hope you managed the get the car started again... yes there are 2 fuel filters... one behind the rear driverside tire bolted to the fuel tank or trunk base i believe.
the other is in the engine bay.

Yeah well carbed engines are a b*** to work on sometimes... constant vaccum leaks and glogged fuel jet's. Thats why I got my weber conversion. I't still a carb but it's an easier carb to work on and tune.
