Default Totally destroyed my Hasport mount in 2 months!!

I bought a brand new set of Hasport motor mounts for my DC2 Type R from a very reputable company and after only two months, this is what happened.

Hasport should replace them for free for you if it's a manufacturer defect. What happened anyways?

I don't understand it myself. I mean, it started out by me sometimes missing my third gear but I brushed it off as shifting error, but then missing became the norm. I aslo started noticing the gearstick moving foward anytime I moved the car from a stand still. When it became apparent it was the mount was when you could literally feel and hear the engine moving back and foward while driving. This dam defected mount cost me three 5/reverse gear hubs and a third syncro through misshifts .

Always contact the company before starting complaint threads. Not a good way to get help, or make friends. From what I hear, hasport has good customer service.

Wow...that's scary. Polyurethane is pretty tough stuff. I would advise talking to Hasport about your problem.

I did contact the buyer first and they said they can't replace it and to call Hasport about it. So I called Hasport, and when I told the guy what happened he was very coarse like he was upset with me that his mount failed. When I asked him if I will get another one he said I had to send the mount back to hasport for investigation. Now I live wayyy down in the Caribbean and to ship this mount to Hasport will cost me a left nut for which I don't have righth now, not to metion a **** load of down time on my much needed transport, all in the hope that their investigation"MAY" reward me a new mount.

Thats interesting, hasport will usually send out new urethane inserts with no hassle. The aluminum mount looks fine. It seems like you has the soft "street bushings. Ask them to send you the harder durometer inserts. it will take you 2 minutes to press the new bushings in.

The Aluminum mount itself looks fine but the insert is totally gone. I though that they would send me inserts also but this guy wants me to ship my mount to him for investigation. i thought this was unsatisfactory also, thats why I am posting so others will know what to expect if this ever happens to them .

Wow that stinks...

I met the owner of Hasport back at the 2000 SCCA Runoffs, He seemed like a great guy and I had talked with him about getting some parts, Later that same week I called Hasport and I had about some of the worst customer service.

That urethane definately failed, as to why, who knows. Regardless, that will be covered under warranty, regardless of where or when you bought the mounts. Hasport would like that urethane back to determine what caused the failure.

happened to a buddy of mine as well, his tranny mount was destroyed within a couple months, tried to get new inserts and had no luck from them.

Hasports customer service sucks, not to mention when i ordered my k20 mounts it took 1 month.

Even if there is more to the story Hasport will replace the urethane free of charge if you send the mount back. Urethane failures are rare and need to be "investigated" to see if there is anything that can be done to prevent a similar failure in the future. If you can't or don't want to send the mount back replacement urethane can be purchased for $20 per mount plus shipping. http://hasport.com/shop/advanc...&y=10
I apologize if the person you spoke to you was anything less than courteous and if they did not offer you the option of purchasing the replacement urethane. (If you would like to PM me his name I can talk to him about it) And I am sorry for the inconvenience of the urethane failure. Thanks for your feedback.

Looks like something spilled on them and compromised the material.
