well i bought a 1995 civic HB with a b18c engine the car runs good really good but there are 2 problems the car goes about 70 when iam on 3800-3900 rpm's
i just want to know if it's normal?
and 2nd question is my car doesnt smoke when u hit the gas but if ill keep it on any gear for 5 sec or more like lets say going down hil it will smoke a cloud of smoke when i hit the gas again. if any of u guys know what the problem's are i'd really appriciate it

70 and 3800 rpm's = normal
going down a hill with foot off gas for a while, then you hit the gas and get blue smoke for a few seconds = valve seals are worn.
full throttle, constant blue smoke, the higher the rpm's... the more smoke = rings worn.
any other color smoke is something else...

it is to be noted that i KNOW burning oil (stupid VX) and this "blue" smoke can easily be mistaken for "white" especially if you have never seen a car burning coolant for referance

well when i hit the throtle all the way and it gets to really high rpm's brown foggy smoke comes out but when i let the foot of the gas then back on then white smoke comes out.
btw guys u dont know how much i appriciate ure help and advice thanks

sounds like coolant... headgasket leak perhaps...
it should be burning at idle if it's coolant... producing a sort of sweet smell out of the exhaust...
I'd do a leakdown test to verify... bubbles should be seen at the radiator cap if that's the case...

now why would he want to do that when what he's describing is valve seals?
Given, I can't say exactly what it is without seeing for myself but when the seals are leaking it causes a lot of carbon buildup, runs rich, clogs o2, runs richer... romp on the gas and all the carbon and crap goes pouring out the back..... explains smoke on full throttle, when you're off the gas it's sucking oil in through the valve seals... get back on the gas and you'll get a puff of blue smoke...

just keep in mind that the smoke is not gona be a dark blue in fact the smoke is going to be white but it will have a blue tint to it... can easily be mistaken if just glanced at with coolant burning
