Default help me please. tranny leak!!!

ok heres the deal. i was driving and there was road construction and the road was all messed up i saw a big rock i tried to dodge it but i failed. so i ran over it and heard a big thump. i pulled over to take a look and saw a leak between the tranny where it meet the motor, and theres a fat dent or lil crack. so now i look under my car i see tranny oil dripping, what can i do to make it stop leaking? if theres a small hole or crack, is it possible for me to use JB Weld? or some kind of sealer? some kind of fill?

thanx

andrew

Damn, catastrophe. I would go back to the site and look for the chunk that broke off. It might be impossible to find, but I really only see a couple options. Either new tranny case and block, or find the piece that flew off and try to get it welded back on. I would use JB weld until you figure something out, but remember you need to apply it to a clean surface, so you might need to drain the fluid first.

Looks like there is more damage than just near that one bolt:

If road construction was in the city, i would complain to the city and have them fix the damage. I had a similar incident where i bent a rim on a huge pothole in the midlle of the road. I got my $200 for the rim, $150 for a new tire, and a free alignment all on the city tab.

If you have full coverage insurance, you can file a claim.

yea what all-mtr-teg said is an option. if you knew exactly where you were and where the site was, driving conditions, any warning signs of any kind noticable stuff like that, you might be able to get some $$$ from the city for a fix
