Has anyone ever had a piston to wall clearance of over .05mm? If so what is the max you have seen? With .06 or .07mm would there be piston slap?

 

I guess it would depend on your piston, Wiseco recommends .0635mm or .0025"

.05mm is less than .002"

 

I'm using JDM ITR Pistons

 

Factory specs are .010-.040mm (.0004-.0016")
Factory service limit is 0.050mm (0.002")
If I was using factory pistons I would not go looser than 0.0015", and I would shoot for 0.0010".

 

So your saying the bore can be up to 81.0254mm? The piston bore is actually 80.97mm so that is already .03mm- Are your numbers taking that into consideration? If you are and your saying you would not go any looser then .0015" or .0381mm then you are leaving .0081 for piston to wall clearance?
